Welcome to Rhan-Aarde. Rhan is a Fantasy Role Playing Game (FRPG) world. The Rhan campaign will be presented in a format that is familiar with the current players, but those who are new may not be familiar with this kind of game. There will be three parts. The first will be the developmental stage or prolog, where the player characters (PCs) will be run at an accelerated rate commencing from their earliest memories. This will provide for a solid background foundation for the character’s history, skills and powers. The stage will end on a predetermined game date. The middle stage will commence on the predetermined game date time and will represent the bulk of the campaign where the adventures will begin and end. The players will run the course of the character’s lives. This section will end once the characters are no longer viable for game play. They may be dead or too old to be an effective character. The final stage, called the Coda will be similar to the prolog will act as a kind of FRPG epilog and will be run at a greatly accelerated rate. Players will have the opportunity to have their characters move into their final positions on Rhan before they are leveled by the great equalizing hand of death. Players will not see the numbers for their characters. The statistics, powers and skill lists will be maintained by the Game Master (GM). The player will have a feel for the character’s abilities from the extended generation process in the first stage of the game. This will allow the players to concentrate on the story rather then attempting to play the numbers. Rhan-Aarde will represent a departure from this group’s traditional mode of play in the fact that most, if not all, of the information for the game will be housed on the website. Players will have access to their amended character sheets and notes on the website, while the GM’s information will be maintained on the site as well. This will allow the game to be played wherever web access is available. The GM’s side of the site is currently coming along very well. Players should start seeing their side of the site being developed soon. |
